Seismic Survey Kiosks

Wiess Energy Hall (2015 – 2017)

Overview

  • Adobe Air, Actionscript
  • Assisted in design and programmed a touch screen kiosk to display text, images, and videos with custom callouts
  • Worked closely with writers and graphic designers

Each application contains text, image, and video content that the user can access and view using the touch monitor.

A second, 65″ television screen presents additional content based on the section of the application the user has navigated to (eg. full screen video when navigating to the “Videos” section).

Working for Paul Bernhard Exhibit Design and Consulting on the Wiess Energy Hall at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, I developed a pair of two interactive touch screen kiosks with content related to seismic surveys.

A 22″ ELO touch monitor allows users to select from three categories of content: “Learn More” to access an article about the topic and an integrated glossary, “Videos” to access assorted video content, and “Gallery” to display a static grid-based gallery.
